Michelle Rector from Raymond James Financial will take you on a deep dive into how Ponzi schemes work, how they've evolved with new technologies, and what we can do to stop them.

About the Speaker:

Michelle is a Vice President and the Head of the Financial Intelligence Unit responsible for Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) and securities crime investigation and suspicious activity reporting at Raymond James Financial, Inc. Her teams are engaged in the review of transactional alerts for potential money laundering, complex investigations, client/activity risk evaluation and termination, as well as advising the development and tuning of financial crime detection mechanisms. 

Michelle’s team covers several divisions of Raymond James, including retail brokerage business lines, banking, institutional equity and fixed income trading, etc.

Michelle also serves as an Executive Board Member for The Human Trafficking Foundation, Inc., based in Florida.

Prior experiences include serving as Deputy AML Officer for Raymond James & Associates, Inc., performing investigative roles in the retail banking and credit card industries with a focus on U.S.-Mexico cross border activity, quality assurance for Know-Your-Customer compliance, program remediation projects, and training. 

Michelle graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in Latin American studies. She holds the Series 7 General Securities Representative License and is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
